Here are some Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Recording Patient Information: Taking and recording patient history, vital signs, and personal information.
- Assisting with Examinations: Helping physicians during patient examinations and procedures.
- Administering Medications: Giving injections or medications as directed by physicians.
- Performing Basic Lab Tests: Conducting basic laboratory tests on the premises.
- Sterilizing Instruments: Cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments and exam rooms.
Administrative Duties
- Scheduling Appointments: Managing patient appointments and maintaining the schedule.
- Data Entry: Entering patient information into medical records accurately.
- Handling Correspondence: Managing phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication.
- Referrals -Receiving instructions from providers to refer patients to specialists or other healthcare providers.
Additional Responsibilities
- Patient Education: Providing patients with information about medications, diets, and other healthcare instructions.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all facilities and equipment.
Experience
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is required
- Proficiency in conducting EKG and administering medications
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and physiology
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
